Tag Archives: Endemic Loneliness

And tomorrow I commence my annual disappearance. I’ll be working Haunted Fort for the next four weekends, Fridays and Saturdays.

For those who don’t understand, my lonely heart beats perversely during these periods of performances. It longs for companionship to welcome me home after each night of performing, to revel in the delights of the evening of acting. It is what it is, an unmet human condition.

To combat it, and to protect friends from my sullen state, I simply withdraw. Go to work during the day, and hole up for the evening, and wait for Friday evening. Don’t ask me what you can do, just simply do what you do.

I will return to meet-space in November.

Existentialistic Thinking

Life to be Learned:

The existentialist school of thought views loneliness as the essence of being human. Each human being comes into the world alone, travels through life as a separate person, and ultimately dies alone. Coping with this, accepting it, and learning how to direct our own lives with some degree of grace and satisfaction is the human condition. During therapy, emphasis is put on understanding the cause of the problem, reversing the negative thoughts, feelings, and attitudes resulting from the problem, and exploring ways to help the patient feel connected.
