God, Church, and Gay Loneliness

As gay Christians, we know that there are no easy solutions to the endemic loneliness of the gay world. And we’ll never pretend that platitudes will cure anyone’s depression. But we do believe we are the beloved children of a gentle God. We believe we were created in His image, and we believe he is lovingly and continuously seeking to be in relationship with us. Entrusting oneself to these truths can be the start of a healthier view of self. We trust that God’s work of renewal and transformation has the power to heal the trauma of even the darkest closets—including wounds caused by the church itself.
